Events
PIPress runs events with partner universities and organisations: hackathons, workshops and programmes where people research with AI and prove what holds. Every event has its own page, and you register on that page. You do not need a PIPress account to take part.
Events of every kind appear here as they are announced — hackathons, workshops, meetups, webinars, conferences and bootcamps, in person, online or both. Most take registration on PIPress; some link to the organiser's own form, and some need no registration at all. The event page says which.
Finding events
Open Events in the menu at the top of pipress.xyz, or go to events.pipress.xyz. Both show the same calendar: upcoming events first, each with its dates, place, price and whether registration is open, and a month view beside them that marks the event days and the workshops and deadlines on the way.
Each event page has everything about it in one place. For the hackathon that means what it is about, how the two days work, the four challenge domains and their directions, what you can build, how projects are judged, the prizes, the road to the event and the FAQ. Short films explain the event and each challenge domain; they play with sound and captions when you press play.
Add dates to calendar downloads a calendar file ready for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook — for a one-day event, that day at its times; for the hackathon, the workshops, the online bootcamp and the event itself.
Registering
Press Register on the event page. The form takes a few minutes and keeps your answers if you go back or reload. It asks only what that event needs: a workshop or a meetup is usually your details and one page of final details, while a hackathon has seven short steps:
- How you are joining — on your own or as a team, and confirming you can attend both days.
- About you — your name, email, university or organisation, role, field and where you are based.
- Your challenge — a challenge domain, one of its directions (or your own), and the problem or question you want to work on.
- Skills & outcome — what you are likely to produce and what you can bring.
- Your team — for a team, its name and each member's basic details.
- Final details — how you heard about the event, dietary requirements, and the event rules and privacy notice.
- Review — every answer on one page, each section editable, before you submit.
After you submit you get a registration number and the next steps.
If you register a team
You are the Team Lead. Each member you add receives an email from PIPress with their own link. The link opens their details as you entered them: they correct anything that is wrong, agree to the rules themselves, and confirm. They do not fill in the form again or choose a challenge.
Your confirmation page also shows each member's link, with Copy and WhatsApp buttons, in case an email lands in spam. Each link belongs to one person, so send it only to them.
Your registration counts as soon as you submit; it does not wait for the members to confirm.
Changing your registration
Submit the form again with the same email. The newest registration replaces the earlier one. For a team, the earlier member links stop working and the members receive new ones.
Registration for the hackathon closes at the end of 15 January 2027, Kuala Lumpur time.
Asking PI
Type /events in the chat. PI shows each event as a card you can register from, and then answers what you ask about it: "can I join alone?", "what are the challenge domains?", "what is the first prize?". It answers from the event's own page, not from memory, and says so when something has not been announced yet. See PI.
